In a culture where being social and outgoing are prized above all else, it can be difficult, even shameful, to be an introvert. But, as Susan Cain argues in this passionate talk, introverts bring extraordinary talents and abilities to the world, and should be encouraged and celebrated.

Did anyone else notice that she's wearing a Hmong necklace??
And this is why I love living in Finland
This is for an introvert who lost herself in a world trying to "fit in". I miss all the times I was most myself. Reading, painting, watching documentaries, needing no one's company but my own. This lockdown's reminded me of what has been missing this whole time. So grateful
Oh,I really like her speech.
I loveeeee being by myself, especially after work, my energy is so drained I just need not to talk.
Being an introvert and attracting extroverts as best friends 🤦🏽♀️ at least my friends get me and don’t force me to do anything. They invite me out but don’t get offended when I say no 😅
I appreciate this lecture
I loved cuz I'm introvert
every single word she said made sense to me and i bursted into tears the first time i heard her speech, it felt like someone just revealed me and described me precisely which was something i could never do for myself. 🙂

Friend: "Why are you so quiet?"
Me: "I don't know, why are you so loud?"
she gives me such phoebe buffay vibes
I was today scrolling on a reddit extrovert page (i am an introvert), just to see how extroverted people think about us
I saw some comments from people saying that we don't care about our friends, saying that we are crappy friends, that we are too quiet and i was hurt because sometimes being an introvert is very hard
It's not like we don't care or we don't have feelings, it's just that it"s hard to open up, especially if you are a shy introvert. We enjoy our alone time, just how they enjoy spending time with a lot of people. We are actually equal, it's our mentality that is different, our way of thinking
We are equal, but not the same
And i agree that we sometimes get annoyed with extroverts for talking to much, but extroverts also get annoyed with us for being too quiet. What is the difference? This is my question. Why do we always get criticized for being too quiet?
I agree for all that she said.
Some teachers need to realise how devastating it is for many of us to ask at the start of school in a new class:
“So let’s go around the class and each of you introduce yourselves!”
And then ask those that whisper something under his voice:
“Why are you so shy honey? Don’t be so quiet!”
Yes they hurt.
THE COURAGE TO SPEAK SOFTLY uuuuoooooaaahhh
i luv how she's being careful n i luv how she's trying her best to put a stop to her train for the audience
anybody else think of life's difficulties like tasks/challenges and crave running right into them?
oh i realize i do realize when i'm APING
wow,i have the best of both worlds🤣
