Microsoft Office Lens Android App Hands On!

Office Lens is a handy capture app that turns your smartphone into a pocket scanner and it works with OneNote so you’ll never lose a thing. Use it to take pictures of receipts, business cards, menus, whiteboards or sticky notes—then let Office Lens crop, enhance and save to OneNote. Just like that—all the scanned images you capture from Office Lens are accessible on all your devices.

You skipped right over the important part, at around 2:40 — how to tell it where to save the file.

The idea is there, and you should try snapping a page from a book – you can then use the read aloud feature to listen to the content.  Not useful for PowerPoint or word in this example — come on a receipt?  That made a good demo for one note — nice to keep up with finances.  This tool has the power to help people who struggle reading stuff.

I like how serious you take the "hands on" concept.

    Hey man,

Would you happen to know if this would work in the following way? : I want to add my written signature that I will draw on a piece of paper and add that to my email signature. I do not want a white background however ,but rather a transparent background. Any help would be appreciated!

Great review. I was trying to pull a picture from my gallery to be saved as a Power Point Document… but it seems that it only allows you to work with the pictures taken right from the App… is that correct?

Office Lens is significantly better if the document is not wrinkled or crumpled.
